So it’s my first time dining here with my family and I must say the food was awesome , we had brown stew snapper, oxtail and lamb chops served with rice & peas and garlic potatoes. Hence must say the garlic potatoes was perfect! The coleslaw was creamy and nice. The ambiance is top tier. We will definitely be back. The chef lady Monique was so kind to us we had to meet the person behind this delicious meal and the server Victoria thanks for our drinks. DONT WALK RUN!!

I went to this excellent Jamaican restaurant and had the oxtail and curry goat. Both dishes were excellent. The meat was soft, full of flavour, and cooked just right. The seasoning was rich and tasty, and the rice and peas went perfectly. The staff were friendly, and the place felt warm and welcoming. I will come back again for sure. Thank you to all staff.

Let me tell you….i am very very picky about my curry chicken roti and Island Spice Flava restaurant has the most delicious flavorful roti. They also don’t skimp and use potatoes as filler….there is literally chicken in every bite! I’ve been here like 5 or 6 times and it has been consistent and delicious. Also the staff is so friendly and love the no nonsense atmosphere. Always a stop for me when I’m visiting Toronto.

The food is well seasoned, delicious and quite possibly among the best Caribbean places in Toronto. The chicken was nicely flavoured and just reminded me of home. The food is really tasty, time and effort shows.

Sista location of the one on Pitfield at Mccowan and 401, this location is so much bigger but they have the same quality food. Good brisket, albeit some parts of it are tough, the flavour is good. Good jerk chicken, soft and moist on the inside, the coleslaw and the rice and beans are good too. Excellent oxtail gravy. Friendly service. Even has a patio.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Not your typical Caribbean restaurant - cozy outdoor patio, much larger inside than I anticipated, with a clean layout, pleasant music, and super-friendly staff. THE VIBE: Today was my second visit to the St Clair and O'Connor location of Island Spice Flava. On both occasions, I had gone during a non-peak hour, which allowed me to thoroughly check things out without the typical distraction of a packed dinner-time crowd. First off, I love this restaurant's location - at the end of St Clair Ave just off O'Connor Road, tucked away at the end of a small plaza. This may sound a bit odd, but even the parking lot had a nice, clean, and cozy energy about it - newly paved and not congested. In my opinion, this restaurant is not set up like a typical Caribbean restaurant; it seems to have a more of a higher end loungey, cozy vibe. There are no "food smells" upon walking in - an indication of a well-ventilated kitchen. The layout is clean and well organized with various seating options from high-top tables, regular tables, and booths. There are numerous TV screens and Caribbean/reggae music played at the right level just enough to enjoy but low enough so you can have a conversation with your friends/family while dining. THE FOOD: I like that the menu caters to both Caribbean and non-Caribbean people. Don't let the word "Island" fool you. Island Spice Flava is not 100% all Caribbean food; they also do some regular pub favourites like burgers, pasta, fries, wings, fried/bbq chicken, poutine, lamb chops, salmon, briskets, and more - just look at the menu, you'd be pleasantly surprised at the variety. That said, on my visit, I opted for stewed king fish - something I cannot make myself as well as a side of fried plantain - all very delicious. This paragraph is specifically for the jerk chicken dinner which I had with stew chicken gravy and coleslaw. Both were amazing! I VERY highly recommned the jerk chicken dinner but, I must say that the stew chicken gravy was beyond delicious so much so that I'll need to order stew chicken dinner upon my next visit. The coleslaw as the BEST I've ever has - freshly made and so good! THE DRINKS: I was impressed with the drinks list of drinks and cocktails. I expected the typical Red strip beer and Corona, etc, but I was quite shocked (in a good way) to see a very appealing cocktail menu in addition to the regular drinks menu. I opted for a strawberry, orchard lemonade - so yummy! THE SERVICE: On my first visit with my two friends, we were taken care of by Victoria and Jordan. They were both super attentive, friendly, patient, efficient, and had great energy! On my second visit, I had the pleasure of meeting both Naomi and the general manager, Tavisha. They were both so friendly and helpful. Overall, the service at this location is top-notch - very service-oriented staff who clearly care about providing a great experience for their guests. FINAL THOUGHTS: The O'Connor Road strip between St Clair Ave East to Victoria Park Ave has long needed another option in addition to the two neighbourhood restaurants, Rally's and Jawney Bakers - both restaurants that have been well known for decades in this part of town. Now, with the closure of both of these old restaurants in 2025, it has left a massive gap for diners in this area. In my opinion, with a menu that caters to pub food lovers, as well as Caribbean food lovers, delicious cocktails, great service, and being one of the only full-service restaurants on the O'Connor strip, I foresee this restaurant doing very well for years to come.
